Heather will be reading from her forthcoming memoir and participating in the panel discussion about mothers, daughters and the complicated intergenerational dynamic between them. They will consider the following questions: given the popularity of intergenerational women’s storytelling, what representational patterns do you embrace? What pitfalls do you avoid? What truths and traumas have you wrestled with in your work? What are the continued joys of writing about mothers and daughters?

Heather is pleased to accept the writer-in-residence position at the Caetani Cultural Centre in Vernon, BC. Here she will be working on her memoir, ‘The Female Stigmata: Thirty Years to Choosing a Body I Love.’
